L.W. Nelson Agricultural Scholarship
The L.W. Nelson Agricultural Scholarship was set up to support students pursuing further education and training in the agricultural sector.
The Scholarship is open to students currently attending one of the following schools:
- Whangarei Boys’ High School
- Whangarei Girls’ High School
- Kamo High School
- Tikipunga High School
- Pompallier College
- Huanui College
- Excellere College
To be eligible, applicants must plan to enrol in an approved agriculture course at a recognised tertiary provider. This includes universities, institutes of technology, private training establishments, and cadetships.
The recipient of the Scholarship will be selected by the L.W. Nelson Board of Trustees. The Board’s decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.
The successful applicant may receive a scholarship of up to $4,000. Payment will be made at the start of the academic year, subject to the applicant providing evidence of acceptance into an agricultural course of study.
In assessing applications, the Board may take into consideration any other financial assistance available to the applicant.
The criteria and conditions governing the L.W. Nelson Agricultural Scholarship may be reviewed and amended by the Board of Trustees from time to time.
